About SaveTTok
Last updated: May 2026
We built SaveTTok because we kept running into the same frustration that millions of people experience every single day: you watch a video on TikTok, you want to save it for later — maybe it's a recipe you want to try on the weekend, a workout routine you plan to follow offline, a tutorial you need to reference without an internet connection — and the built-in save feature either doesn't work the way you need it to, or it saves the video with a watermark that makes it awkward to use in any other context.
SaveTTok started as a personal project. Our founder, Afonso Macosso, was studying digital media and found himself repeatedly needing clean copies of publicly posted videos for research purposes — things like analysing editing techniques, studying storytelling patterns in short-form content, and comparing visual styles across different creators. The watermark made that kind of analysis unnecessarily cluttered. A simple tool that could save a clean copy of a publicly available video shouldn't have been this hard to find.
What We Do
SaveTTok is a web-based tool that allows you to download publicly available TikTok videos for personal, offline use. We support three output formats: standard video (up to 720p), high-definition video (1080p and above when available), and MP3 audio extraction for those times when you only need the sound — a piece of music, a spoken word clip, a podcast-style recording that a creator has shared.
Our tool works by accessing the publicly available media files attached to public TikTok posts. We do not bypass any authentication, we do not access private accounts, and we do not circumvent any technical protection measures. Everything we retrieve is content that has already been made publicly accessible by the person who posted it.
We have built SaveTTok to be genuinely useful without being complicated. You paste a link, our system processes it, and within a few seconds you have three download options in front of you. No browser extensions required. No software to install. No account needed for the basic free tier. It works on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops equally well.
Our Mission
Our mission is straightforward: to give people reliable, fast, and honest access to publicly available video content they want to keep. We believe that if a creator has chosen to make their content public, people should have a reasonable way to save it for personal reference.
We also believe that being upfront about what a tool does — and what it should not be used for — is more useful than pretending the question doesn't exist. SaveTTok is a personal-use tool. It is not designed or intended for commercial redistribution of other people's work, for mass downloading, or for any use that would infringe on a creator's intellectual property rights. We take that distinction seriously, and our Terms of Use reflect it clearly.
Who We Are
SaveTTok is operated by SaveTTok Media LLC, a company registered in the state of Virginia, United States. Our small team is distributed across several time zones, which means we are generally always someone awake and paying attention to how the platform performs.
The team behind SaveTTok comes from backgrounds in web development, digital media production, and content strategy. We are, in the most literal sense, the people who actually use tools like this ourselves. We know what makes a downloader frustrating — slow processing, unreliable results, intrusive advertising, dark patterns that trick you into clicking things you didn't intend to click — and we have tried hard to build something that avoids all of those things.
We operate on a freemium model. The free tier gives you five downloads per day, which is genuinely enough for casual personal use. The Pro plan removes that limit entirely and removes advertising for users who find our platform useful enough to support with a small monthly fee. We think that's a fair exchange.
Our Approach to Privacy
We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to run the service. If you use SaveTTok without creating an account, we don't know who you are. We track download counts by session to enforce the daily limit for anonymous users, and that data is tied to a cookie on your device, not to any profile of you as a person.
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We store your download history so you can refer back to it and re-download things you've already processed. We don't sell that data. We don't share it with third parties except as required to operate the service — meaning our hosting infrastructure and, if you upgrade to Pro, our payment processor PayPal.
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements to free-tier users. Google AdSense uses cookies to personalise the ads you see. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the preferences panel in the footer of every page. If you decline marketing cookies, you will still see ads but they will not be personalised to your browsing behaviour.
Intellectual Property and Creator Rights
We want to be direct about something that a lot of tools in this space dance around: the videos you download using SaveTTok belong to the people who made them. Downloading a video for personal offline viewing is, in most jurisdictions, considered personal use and does not constitute copyright infringement. Downloading a video and then re-uploading it, distributing it, selling it, or using it in commercial projects without the creator's permission is a different matter entirely, and it is not something we support or condone.
If you are a content creator and you believe that SaveTTok is being used to infringe on your rights in a way that goes beyond the personal use described in our Terms, we have a dedicated DMCA process available. You can reach us at [email protected] or through our Contact page.
The Technology
SaveTTok is built on ASP.NET Core 8.0, running on a hardened Linux server infrastructure behind Cloudflare's global network. We use a PostgreSQL database for storing user accounts and download history. Our video processing pipeline uses a cascade approach: we attempt to retrieve the requested video through multiple sources in sequence, always aiming for the highest quality available, and fall back gracefully if any source is temporarily unavailable.
We do not store copies of videos on our servers. When you request a download, our system retrieves the file from its original source and streams it directly to your device. Nothing is kept on our end beyond the metadata entry in your download history (if you are logged in). This design is intentional: it keeps our costs manageable, it keeps your privacy intact, and it means that if a creator deletes their video, previously downloaded copies are not being hosted somewhere without their knowledge.
Availability and Reliability
We monitor SaveTTok around the clock. Our current uptime over the past thirty days exceeds 99.9%, and we are committed to maintaining that level of reliability. Scheduled maintenance windows occur on Friday nights UTC and are designed to be zero-downtime — meaning the service continues to operate during maintenance through rolling restarts rather than full outages.
You can check the current status of all system components on our Status page, which is updated in real time.
Contact and Support
We are a small team, but we take support seriously. If you have a question, a problem, or a suggestion, the best way to reach us is through our Contact page or directly at [email protected].
We read every message. We may not always respond immediately — we are human beings with other things going on — but we do read everything and we do follow up.
